ORIGIN/HABITAT: Costa Rica and Panama. This orchid usually grows on tree trunks and larger tree branches in lower mountain rainforests. Plants are usually found at 3950–6050 ft. (1200–1850 m), but they may occur as low as 2300 ft. (700 m) and as high as 7550 ft. (2300 m). In Costa Rica, plants are found in the Departments of Heredia, Alajuela, Cartago, Puntarenas, and San Jose. In Panama, collections are reported from several locations in Chiriquí Province. — Source: Charles Baker
Warscewiczella ( syn.Cochleanthes) is a genus distributed from Costa Rica to Peru. The plants are epiphytes from low to intermediate elevation cloud forest from 500 to 1 500 meters. Cultivate under intermediate conditions.
