A beautiful reed-like species that grows in the grassland of Tanzania Other accepted name (Kew): Polystachya neobenthamia. Grows in warm to hot environment in bright to partial direct light.
ORIGIN/HABITAT: Tanzania (Tanganyika) in tropical east Africa. Plants may grow on rocks or the surface of the ground and have been found in grassland in the Korogwe-Handeni region. They are also reported from the Usagara Mountains at 1500 ft. (460 m), usually about 100 mi. (161 km) inland. Pridgeon (1992) reported that this orchid grows on cliffs and sloping rock faces in warm, humid locations. — Source: Charles Baker
