The perfect companion plants to orchids and Bromeliaceae as they grow in very similar conditions. Staghorn ferns (Platycerium spp.) have an out-of-this world appearance. They are epiphytic plants, which means that in they grow on other plants or trees in their natural growing environments. The plants have two types of leaves, one of which resembles the horns of a large antelope.
You can grow them in pots when they are smaller but mature plants prefer to be mounted to a tree, a board or hung in a hanging basket.
