ORIGIN/HABITAT: In Mexico, plants are reported from the States of Chiapas and Veracruz. They are usually found at 600-1900 m In Mexico, plants grow as on trees in open woodlands or in shady canyons. In Guatemala, plants grow in forests at up to 2000m. In other regions, they are found in wet, lower mountain forests. In Nicaragua, plants are found in Jinotega in wet mountain forests at 1100 m.
